The American Legion Hall serves as a gathering place for adults, age 50 and older, to partake in daily SPAN lunches, fellowship and monthly socials, seminars, and frequent trips. Activities include sewing, exercise, table games and puzzles, and bingo.

Stop by on any given day and a dedicated and caring member of our staff will welcome you to the Center, give you a tour of the building, and do their best to make you feel comfortable. And while you walk around, you might just be enticed to join one of the many activities you see. All of our facilities feature handicap-designated parking and are wheelchair accessible. Carrollton Senior Center

The Carrollton Senior Center is located at 1720 Keller Springs Road, just west of Josey Lane. The 17,300 square-foot facility consists of a large ballroom with a wood dance floor, picture windows overlooking the lake and wetlands, meeting rooms, exercise and fitness rooms, and administrative offices, as well as boardwalk piers on the lake and a hiking/biking trail.
 

The Center offers a variety of weekly leisure activities and monthly programs for senior adults ages 50+, including senior athletic opportunities, educational classes and seminars, and monthly luncheons. Most activities and programs are free or have a minimal charge.

The Coppell Senior and Community Center is a recreation center for those 50 years of age or older, and is operated by the Parks and Recreation Department. Visiting the Senior Center is a wonderful way to meet new friends, and enjoy a wide variety of programs, social events, and drop-in activities. Denton Senior Center is a 19,430-square-foot facility with a state-of-the-art fitness room, woodshop, game room, library, and several multipurpose rooms. It is home to Aletha's Craft Store, a shop to purchase handmade items crafted by local seniors, where each purchase gives back to support the Parks Foundation. The center serves as a gathering place for adults, age 50 and older, to enjoy daily SPAN lunches and fellowship, monthly socials and seminars, trips, and special events.

The Branch Connection Senior Center  in Farmer's Branch is one of the most thriving recreational facilities in the metroplex. The current Senior Center has been in operation since 2000 and has become a staple for active seniors in Farmers Branch.

The Senior Center offers more than 80 programs geared toward meeting the physical, mental, social, and emotional needs of individuals 50 and over. There is no membership fee but those utilizing the facility and programs are required to complete a liability waiver and contact information form annually.

The Garland Senior Activity Center and the Carver Center are recreation centers for adults 55 and older, offering an extensive variety of activities and classes intended to enhance and enrich the lives of active adults in our community. The centers are not a licensed adult day care facility. All paid and drop in activities are designed for independent participation. Staff does not provide direct supervision or personal care and does not monitor participants coming and going. Participants requiring assistance need to be accompanied with a caregiver or assistant while at the center.

The City offers a wide variety of programming and activities for seniors age 50 and older through the Heritage Senior Center (HSC). Built in 2003, the 40,000 square-foot facility is state-of-the-art.

Amenities include comfortable classrooms, a sunny dining room and a gorgeous ballroom with a wooden dance floor. Members can relax in the living room, read a book in the library, get creative in the craft room, play billiards, use a computer or exercise in the fully equipped fitness room.

The Rowlett Community Centre is located at the east end of Main Street, just past Kirby Road and Rowlett High School. The Rowlett Community Centre is next door to Wet Zone Waterpark and Pecan Grove Park.

The Grand Prairie Parks and Recreation Department opened the doors to the newest addition to the city, The Summit, on June 18, 2010. The $23 million dollar, 60,000 square foot facility located in Central Park is designed specifically for active adults ages 50 and older.


With state-of-the art fitness areas, gym, indoor infinity edge pool with lap lanes & exercise vortex, theater, locker rooms with sauna and more, this will be the talk of Texas for years to come!

Wylie Senior Center

We are excited and ready to open the doors, and welcome you back to Wylie Recreation Center! Thank you for your support and patience through this unprecedented time. 

Wylie Recreation Center Fitness Floor and Gym will be open for modified hours, services, access, and offerings starting Monday, May 18. Open Fitness and Open Gym activities will resume at limited capacity, Monday - Thursday, 5 am - 9 pm, and Saturday, 8 am - 8 pm. All other Wylie Recreation Center services will be reactivated in later phases. Senior Recreation Center, and the Thomas and Mattie Brown House remain closed at this time.
